Fishing

Lakeside is a dream destination for fishing enthusiasts, offering over 40 well-positioned pegs, including 20 dedicated match pegs, on a beautifully stocked freshwater lake. With carp, bream, and roach ready to test your skills, it’s the perfect spot to cast a line and enjoy a peaceful day by the water. Just bring your own equipment (barbless hooks only, max size 12) and a valid rod licence, with age restrictions in line with your licence (under 14s must be accompanied by an adult). Best of all, if you’re staying with us, fishing is completely free!

Explore the stunning surroundings of Lakeside with a variety of walking routes suited to all abilities. Stroll around the park’s scenic grounds or venture onto off-park trails that take you through both urban and countryside landscapes. Serious walkers and hikers can enjoy routes leading to the nearby village of North Somercotes and Warren Woods, offering picturesque views and a chance to immerse in nature. Just a short drive from Lakeside, you’ll find an array of coastal paths and nature reserves, perfect for discovering Lincolnshire’s diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

Cycling is a fantastic way to explore Lakeside and beyond, offering both convenience and a great way to stay active. Whether you’re taking a leisurely ride around the park or venturing further afield, there are plenty of scenic routes to enjoy. Families and friends can set off on relaxed countryside rides, while more adventurous cyclists can tackle longer routes leading to the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds or the breathtaking coastline. With a mix of flat terrain and gentle hills, the surrounding area caters to all abilities, making it easy to soak in the natural beauty at your own pace. Just remember to observe highway rules and be mindful of fellow cyclists and pedestrians along the way.

Dog-friendly areas

With plenty of dog walking opportunities in the area around the park, Lakeside is a great spot for dogs and their owners. The Covenham reservoir and Louth Canal are both around six miles through beautiful landscape, and the 3-mile South Elkington circular offers a shorter opportunity for a picturesque leg-stretch. Around nearby North Somercotes there are shorter routes for giving your dog a quick walk.

BBQ spaces and private lodges

Relax in our charming Swedish-style small lodges, nestled on the grassed area near the lake and just a short stroll from the main reception, where you can book your lodge. Designed for daytime use, these cosy wooden lodges feature comfortable indoor circular seating, with one centred around a fire pit for a truly inviting atmosphere. Each lodge also includes a BBQ, making it the perfect spot for a laid-back gathering. Free to book for all guests, a £30 deposit is required for the key, with just a £10 charge if you choose to use the BBQ. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks, and to help keep the park pristine, we provide recycling bags for easy waste collection.

Heated crown pavilion room

Our heated Crown Pavilion garden room is great for private parties. Comfortable inside and with grassed outdoor seating near the edge of the lake, this is the perfect space to enjoy food and drink purchased from The Waterfront Club, and see from prime position what Lakeside has to offer. Sited opposite the Sportsman’s patio, the Crown Pavilion room is in direct sight of the outdoor entertainment provided by the Waterfront (when it’s on, during the summer Saturday and Bank Holiday Saturday and Sunday afternoons).
