What is a Seasonal Caravan Pitch?

Imagine having a cosy caravan retreat in your favourite corner of the Lincolnshire countryside, ready for you to escape to. Whenever you want to go, you can go – with none of the hassle of towing, and none of the hassle of setting up. Everything’s already there, just waiting. Such things do exist!

Seasonal caravan pitches are a highly convenient way to enjoy spontaneous stays in one location, turning your caravan into a true home-away-from-home for as long as you like. You can leave your caravan securely in place and visit whenever the mood strikes without any of the repetitive holiday tasks of hitching, towing and setting up. In a way you could describe it as like having a personal holiday cottage – but in the case of a seasonal pitch at Lakeside, on a state-of-the-art park filled with facilities.

Why choose a Seasonal Pitch?

There are multiple reasons to choose a seasonal pitch for your caravan.

  • No towing: Towing a caravan isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and a seasonal pitch puts paid to any of the hassle. You’ll only have to do it twice – once when you put your caravan on site, and once when you’re leaving. This could mean months without the stresses often associated with towing.
  • More time: Having your caravan permanently on a seasonal pitch means spontaneous getaways are an absolute breeze. Sitting at home on a Friday evening and suddenly fancy a weekend retreat? Easy! Just pack a bag and head over to Lakeside. Your caravan, complete with all of the essentials you’ve kept onboard, is ready and waiting.
  • Cost-effective: Though there’s an upfront fee for a seasonal pitch, it should work out to be more economical for you. You’ll save on fuel (no towing back and forth), you’ll reduce the general wear and tear on your vehicle. Also, at Lakeside, a seasonal pitch is fantastic value, especially when you consider all of the amenities and facilities at your disposal.
  • Community: Staying at the same park over a season means you’ll be able to build up some great relationships with fellow caravanners and the local community. Seeing familiar faces and having neighbours who look out for each other is part of what makes a seasonal pitch feel like home.
  • Explore and enjoy: Seasonal pitches allow you to deepen your connection with the local area. No more tearing around trying to cram the six interesting places you want to visit into a few days and being unable to truly enjoy them. When you have a seasonal pitch time extends somehow, and you can spread your explorations out over a longer period, savouring the discovery of hidden gems, historical sites, wildlife havens, local events and scenic spots.

Things to think about before signing up for a Seasonal Pitch

There are multiple reasons to think about when considering signing up for a seasonal pitch for your caravan.

  • Location: You should choose a site that resonates with your interests. That’s why Lakeside is perfect – there is so much on the park itself but also in the surrounding area. Whether it’s coastal walks and the seaside attractions of (say) Mablethorpe or Cleethorpes, countryside hikes, or being close to wildlife hotspots (such as the seal sanctuary at Donna Nook), plus the charming villages and interesting towns of Lincolnshire, Lakeside is a location that aligns with everyone’s holiday desires.
  • Facilities: Some parks with seasonal touring pitches provide electric hook-up, quality facilities and even on-site activities and entertainment as part of the package. We’re very pleased to say that Lakeside excels on all fronts – from the top quality Waterfront club with its restaurant and entertainment opportunities, to the well-maintained nine-hole golf course plus array of other sports and fitness facilities, and much more.
  • Cost: Fees for seasonal pitches can vary widely based on location, facilities and the length of the season. At Lakeside, our seasonal pitches are £3,125 per year (payable upfront). Site fees are issues in November, when a £200 deposit is required, and should be paid in full by the end of January. This will secure your pitch for the season.

A long-term seasonal pitch means you can experience Lakeside at different times of the year. You can leave your caravan all year (if you’ve paid to do so), and in 2025 our seasonal pitches are open from Friday 7th March to Saturday 29th November. That’s a lot of time in which to enjoy the scenery or explore the locale – as well as, of course, enjoying the exceptional on-park facilities.

Ultimately, opting for a seasonal pitch will take your caravan holiday to another level, providing you with a permanent holiday haven. It offers a fantastic blend of stability and flexibility – and when it’s on Lakeside it means a comfortable, convenient and hassle-free lifestyle. Your seasonal pitch at Lakeside is your ticket to truly enjoyable escapes.
